Micropest Pest Control Sydney has proudly served the Pymble community with termite control treatments for over 21 years. Established in February 2003, we have stood the test of time and earned over 1200 five-star Google reviews during these 21 years. Conveniently located in the Upper North Shore suburb of Wahroonga, just a quick eight-minute drive from Pymble, we specialise in comprehensive termite control for both residential and commercial properties.

WE ARE ONE OF THE LONGEST ESTABLISHED TERMITE CONTROL COMPANIES ON THE UPPER NORTH SHORE OF SYDNEY.

Gerard Dallow leads our termite control services in Pymble. Since starting in the pest control industry in the late 1980s, he has built over 35 years of hands-on experience and has personally completed more than 7,000 termite treatments. His impressive track record, supported by hundreds of glowing Google reviews, has earned him a reputation as one of the most trusted professionals in the field.

Termite Control Pymble

There are five main methods to control termites, baiting, physical barriers, dusting, spraying and foaming. Important to note, Pymble is home to three distinct destructive termite species. The most common and destructive are Coptotermes Acinaciformis Termites , followed by Schedorhinotermes Intermedius Termites , and lastly Nasutitermes Termites causing the least damage.

Choosing the right termite treatment depends on several factors, including the severity of the infestation, the species of termites involved, their location, the building's structure, and the surrounding environmental conditions. Because every termite issue is unique, the most effective termite treatment is one that is carefully tailored to suit your specific needs and budget.

With so many termite treatment brands, formulas, and methods available, it can be a bit overwhelming for someone without experience to figure out what works best. Our advice is simple: steer clear of cheaper, generic treatments because they often don't work as well as premium, reputable products. Over the years, Gerard has tested countless termite treatments, ruling out those that are ineffective or unsafe, and he sticks with the safest and most effective solutions.

Termite Inspection Pymble

Effective termite control always starts with a thorough termite inspection. This essential step helps us provide you with an accurate quote and develop the most effective treatment plan for your specific circumstances. Gerard has completed over 14,000 termite inspections in his career, demonstrating his extensive experience and ensuring that he uses the latest termite detection technology.

Termite Control Pymble

Our termite inspections provide a comprehensive evaluation of your property to uncover active termites, assess any existing damage, identify conditions that may encourage termite activity, and determine which species are present. We carefully inspect key areas such as the roof void, subfloor, and both the interior and exterior of your property, Using advanced tools like thermal imaging, moisture meters, Termatrac devices, dongers, high-powered torches, and occasionally termite-sniffing dogs. After the inspection, you'll receive a detailed eight-page report that outlines our findings. This thorough approach gives us the information needed to develop effective termite treatment plans and address any potential risks of future infestations.

Depending on the situation, if active termites are detected, termite control usually begins with a stage one treatment, such as baiting, foaming, or dusting. This initial treatment is then followed by a stage two treatment, which may include a residual treatment, additional termite baiting, or a combined baiting and monitoring system along with regular termite inspections.

Not every termite control treatment is suitable for every property. Homes built on rocky terrain or in areas with drainage issues—such as many on the Northern Beaches and North Shore—may not respond well to treatments like Termidor HE or Premise that depend on residual barriers. Water can deactivate these barriers, and they often do not bond effectively to sandstone or rock.

In these cases, if active termites are found, above-ground baiting systems or dusting treatments using products like Fipronil and Sentricon tend to be more effective. However, if no termites are detected, it's highly recommended to schedule regular termite inspections for early detection. Choosing the right method is key to effective termite management, and understanding your property's specific needs helps ensure the best results.

Termidor He Pymble

Termidor HE is a non-repellent, long-lasting residual soil termite treatment that offers protection for approximately eight years. Its active ingredient is fipronil, at a concentration of 96 grams per litre, and it is manufactured by BASF. Currently, it is considered one of the best residual termite control treatments on the market—this treatment ticks all the boxes.

Termidor He Termite Control Treatment Pymble

Why Choose Termidor He Termite Control?

1) Superior Effectiveness: Termidor HE outperforms older treatments by spreading further through the soil, ensuring a consistent and reliable protective barrier around your home.

2) Colony Control: Thanks to its unique "Transfer Effect," termites that come into contact with Termidor HE can unknowingly pass it on to other members of their colony, which may eventually result in the complete elimination of the infestation.

3) Hassle-Free: Say goodbye to needless drilling and trenching. Termidor HE's advanced technology minimizes the number of drill holes and the extent of trenching around your property, helping to preserve your home's integrity.

4) Faster Installation: Termidor HE speeds up the application process, reducing downtime so you can enjoy your termite-free home sooner.

5) Long-Lasting Protection: Termidor HE bonds strongly with soil and organic matter, offering protection for about eight years—as long as the treated soil remains dry and undisturbed.

6) Safe for Your Family and Pets: The active ingredient, fipronil, is carefully formulated to be safe for both people and pets when used as directed, giving you complete peace of mind.

7) Environmentally Friendly: Termidor HE uses significantly less water than traditional treatments, making it an eco-friendly option for pest control.

Premise 200 SC Pymble

Premise 200 SC Termiticide is a tried, true, and tested termite liquid treatment. Introduced in 1995 as the first non-repellant termite treatment specifically formulated to safeguard your home against termites, it contains 200 g/L of the active ingredient imidacloprid. This creates a residual barrier in the soil that not only helps eliminate termites but also protects your property for around five years. I've carried out thousands of termite treatments with Premise over the past 30 years, and it works well while being cost effective.

Premise Termite Control Treatment Pymble

Why Choose Premise Termite Control?

A Premise termite treatment typically lasts about five years. Its effectiveness depends on factors such as soil type and moisture levels, making it a versatile option for various conditions. It works by creating a treated zone in the soil that termites cannot detect. As termites move through this zone, they unknowingly pass through the non-repellant treatment, which eventually leads to their elimination. Additionally, termites share the active ingredient with other members of their colony through social interaction and even cannibalism, sometimes resulting in the complete elimination of the nest.

Premise is powered by imidacloprid, an advanced compound proven to be highly effective against termites. When applied correctly, Premise provides robust protection without staining surfaces or emitting strong odors, ensuring it remains safe for your home and family.

Fipronil Dust Pymble

Fipronil dust is a powerful termite control solution. This fine, talc-like dust is applied in very small amounts directly into active termite galleries. When conditions are right, fipronil dust is one of the fastest, most cost-effective, and efficient ways to eliminate termites.

Termidor He Termite Control Treatment Pymble

Fipronil's unique properties work gradually but effectively. The fine dust sticks to termites as they move through the colony, and when they groom each other, they ingest the fipronil, which eventually leads to their death. This slow-acting process prevents termites from pinpointing the source of the toxin, stopping them from sealing off the affected areas and reducing colony-wide fatalities. Typically, you can expect to see results within 7 to 14 days, making this treatment highly effective.

However, for full, long-term termite protection, it's important to combine this approach with a termite baiting and monitoring system along with residual termite treatments. To maintain effective termite control, annual inspections are highly recommended.

Fipronil dust serves as a convenient stage one termite treatment when active termites are found in your home and need to be removed quickly. Many clients call during renovations when they discover active termites, and with expensive builders on site, they can't afford to pause the renovation for six months while an above-ground baiting system takes effect. Instead, we dust the active termite galleries and follow it up with a residual termite control treatment. This approach enables the builders to continue work with minimal downtime.

If I find a Nasutitermes termite nest whether it's a Nasutitermes Walkeri nest in a tree, a Nasutitermes Exitiosus mound on the ground, or signs of either species inside a building. The fastest and most effective way to eliminate the nest is to apply fipronil dust directly into the active termite leads.

Termidor He Termite Control Treatment Pymble

If I detect a termite nest or a large colony around 30,000 termites of the Coptotermes Acinaciformis or Schedorhinotermes Intermedius species, which are among the most aggressive and destructive in Sydney, the likelihood of eliminating the colony is high. However, it's crucial to follow this with a residual termite treatment.

Sentricon Above Ground Termite Baiting Pymble

The Sentricon Termite Baiting System is a trusted and highly effective method for eliminating termite colonies, whether used indoors or outdoors. Its bait is made from a cellulose-based food substrate infused with Hexaflumuron, a powerful inhibitor of chitin synthesis. This active ingredient disrupts the termites' molting process by interfering with their ability to produce chitin, which is essential for building their exoskeleton. Over time, termites that cannot complete a proper molt become vulnerable to fungal infections, setting off a domino effect that eventually eradicates the entire colony, including the queen.

Sentricon Above Ground Termite Baiting Pymble

Introduced in Australia by Dow AgroSciences Australia Ltd in 1997, Sentricon was the very first termite monitoring and baiting system launched in the country. Today, it remains one of the most popular and widely used systems, celebrated for its reliability and effectiveness. Sentricon bait is applied directly to active termite sites, ensuring immediate consumption. After the initial placement, Micropest professionals inspect the bait every 30 days and replace it as needed. Under ideal conditions during the spring and summer months, it typically takes three to six months to eliminate an average-sized termite colony. However, during the colder winter months, when molting slows down, the process may take longer.

For situations where only a few termites are detected during inspections—insufficient to eradicate the colony with methods like Fipronil dust—Sentricon baiting is often recommended as an initial treatment. This stage-one strategy is typically followed by a stage-two treatment that includes a residual termiticide application and the installation of a long-term monitoring system, such as Trelona or Sentricon Always Active. This comprehensive method not only eliminates the termite nest but also significantly reduces the risk of future infestations, offering long-term protection for your property.

The Sentricon Termite Baiting System is a proven and trusted method for termite control. With its innovative and structured approach, it effectively manages termite infestations, providing homeowners with peace of mind and protecting their homes from potential termite damage.

Trelona Inground Termite Monitoring And Baiting System Pymble

The Trelona Termite Monitoring and Baiting System is an advanced solution built to protect structures from termite infestations. The system uses several monitors that are strategically placed around a building, each loaded with bait cartridges containing Novaluron, a chitin synthesis inhibitor. When termites feed on the bait, their molting process is disrupted, which ultimately causes the entire nest to collapse.

Trelona Termite Baiting And Monitoring System Pymble

These monitors are built to last around five years. They should be inspected every three to six months by the property owner and once a year during your annual termite inspection. It's common to find that two or three bait cartridges have been used during these regular checks, which is often enough to eliminate a termite colony.

The Trelona system offers proactive protection, making it an effective solution for properties regardless of whether they currently face termite issues. Since its introduction, this innovative system has significantly reduced termite nests throughout Sydney's Upper and Lower North Shore, confirming its effectiveness and reliability.

Sentricon Always Active Inground Termite Monitoring And Baiting System Pymble

The Sentricon Always Active termite baiting and monitoring system is a groundbreaking and highly effective solution for managing termite infestations. This system involves strategically placing a series of discreet monitors around the perimeter of a structure, with each monitor loaded with a bait rod infused with Hexaflumuron. As a chitin synthesis inhibitor, Hexaflumuron disrupts the molting process in termites, ultimately leading to the eradication of the entire colony.

Active termites In A Sentricon In Ground Termite Baiting System Pymble

These baiting monitors should be inspected by the property owner every three to six months, with a professional termite inspection scheduled once a year. Often, you'll notice that two or three bait rods have been consumed during these checks, which indicates that enough bait has been ingested to effectively eliminate a termite nest.

One of the main advantages of the Sentricon system is its proactive approach. It not only helps prevent termite activity before it starts but also effectively manages any existing infestations. Since its introduction, the system has significantly reduced termite nests across Sydney's Upper and Lower North Shore, providing long-term protection and peace of mind for property owners.
