So what we're going to do is cut out these four bricks and insert this vent in the space and you should get about 20-30 times more ventilation.

Gerard: That vent there will correspond with the other vent on the other side?

Tony: That's right.

Gerard: Alright, so you've got cross-flow ventilation.

Gerard: Well, we finally got optimum ventilation underneath this sub-floor. Like any good ventilation job, you should be able to look through one vent and see the corresponding vent on the other side. It's not very often that you see this. In all the houses that I go underneath the sub-floor for termite inspections, you'll probably find about 10% are adequately ventilated.
