Fipronil dusting termite control is a very fine talc like dust when blowen into active termite galleries at extremely low doses and under optimum circumstances is the fastest, least most expensive and effective way of termite control. The unique qualities of fipronil lead to a gradual yet deadly effect on termites, which significantly increases their mortality rate. Nonetheless, for long-term termite management, it's essential to integrate this approach with a termite baiting and monitoring system and residual termite control treatment. A regular annual termite inspection remains critical for all termite control strategies.

If I found Nasutitermes termites nest regardless wether it was a Nasutitermes Walkeri termite nest in a tree or Nasutitermes Exitiosus nest in a mound on the ground or either species of them in a building, the most effective and expedient termite control treatment method would be to blow fipronil dust into the active termite leads. The fipronil dust adheres to the active termites bodies and when they feed (lick the sweat of each others back) they ingest the fipronil and die very slowly so the termites cant determine where the toxicity is coming from.Termites when they detect toxicity, they quickly close of the mud tunnels to the nest to reduce the colonys fatalities. This process takes approximately seven to fourteen days to work and is always successful.

If I found a termite nest or a significant quantity (approx 30,000 termites) of Coptotermes Acinaciformis termites or schedorhinotermes-intermedius-termites which are the most aggressive and destructive termites we have in Sydney. As a stage one termite treatment I dust them with Fipronil dust followed up by a residual termiticide and a termite monitoring baiting system to the building of the infested structure. As per normal follow up with an annual termite inspection.

The most effective residual termiticides on the market at the present time are Premise 200 SC | Residual Termiticide (Bayer) or Termidor HE | Residual Termiticide (Basf). Both are safe, non repellant termite treatments (Basf) There are two quality baiting monitoring systems, Sentricon always active (Dupont) and Trelona. (Basf) These are not generic termite control treatments.
